Why 'King's Meadow'?In 2010 a local metal detector enthusiast was searching in the meadow and he found a copper alloy and enamel shield bearing the three leopard lions of Richard The Lionheart. Once officially dated as being from 1198 – 1369 King’s Meadow was given its name.
Inset: The arms of England as shown on the second Great Seal of King Richard I "the Lionheart". The seal is dated c. 1157. These arms were used by his successors until 1340.
